Long before Highpoint, North Carolina became a furniture hub, Grand Rapids, Michigan was known as the Furniture City and in 1919 The Klingman Furniture Exposition Building was the center of that market. A little more than a decade later Klingmans would have the first of many expansions over the last century. In 1931 this expansion brought 6000 visitors on opening day alone. This new store would feature an auditorium, tearoom, gift shop and 54 model showrooms. It was the destination for furniture in the United States. |

In 2008 Klingmans was purchased by the prominent Israels family, a family with a great passion and their own extensive history in the furniture business. Under the direction of new owner, Robert Israels, Klingmans would move to a new state-of-the-art facility in what was formerly the Rogers Department Store. After a complete renovation, Klingman's new store in Wyoming, Michigan has been described as one of the finest furniture stores in the United States. Klingmans continues to be the destination for fine home furnishings shipping throughout the United States as well as many countries throughout the world. |
